Job Opening - Youth Services shelver
The Baraboo Public Library is seeking a part-time (10 hours per week) shelver. The shelver will shelve library materials in the Youth Services Department.
Minimum requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience working in a public library, keyboarding, computer skills, and general office skills preferred. Ideal candidates will be available to work 2 hours per day, 5 days per week or a similar schedule. Under the supervision of the Youth Services Librarian, reshelve library materials, maintain materials in the library collection in a neat and orderly fashion, and assist in other support tasks as assigned.
The ideal candidate must be comfortable working with the public in a fast-paced and stressful environment, performing speedy and accurate shelving with frequent bending, stooping, crouching and reaching. They must be highly observant of details.
Once the position is offered to the qualified applicant, a background check is required. This position is not eligible for benefits such as paid vacation and holidays, sick leave, retirement, health insurance, and life insurance.
