Job Opening - Circulation Assistant
The Baraboo Public Library seeks a dynamic, flexible, and detail-oriented problem solver with strong customer service skills to serve library patrons at the Adult Services circulation desk. The circulation desk staff are responsible for answering all incoming calls, directional, and reference questions; checking out materials; providing readers’ advisory; and assisting patrons with copiers, printers, computers and other library technology.
Top candidates will have a love of reading and information, a congenial and professional demeanor, be confident learning our circulation software and using Microsoft Office, social media, the internet and library databases. Previous library experience, book knowledge, and customer service experience desired. A high school degree or equivalent is required, plus two years of college or technical school.
Work schedule is subject to change but currently includes Wednesday mornings and afternoons, Thursday evenings until close, Friday afternoons, and a Saturday shift every four weeks.
Offer of employment is contingent on a background check. This is a part-time position (19.5 hours per week) and is not eligible for benefits.
