Eric Schlehlein will present Forged in Blood: How the Iron Brigade Earned its Metallic Moniker on Thursday November 16 at 6:30 PM at the Baraboo Public Library. Schlehlein, author of the Civil War-era historical novel Black Iron Mercy, will discuss the history behind the book and tell the story of more than three thousand Wisconsin boys who served in the Iron Brigade during the Civil War. The famed Iron Brigade of the Army of the Potomac, suffered the highest percentage of casualties of any brigade during the Civil War. Following the presentation, the author will be on hand to sign copies of his book, which will be available for purchase.
