Healing and Justice Panel Discussion

Wednesday, March 21, 2018 - 6:00pm to 8:00pm
Baraboo Public Library, 230 Fourth Avenue, Baraboo, WI

Inspired by The Round House by Louise Erdrich, an NEA Big Read selection, "Healing & Justice in Our Community: A Panel Discussion" features Sarah Deer (professor and lawyer), Rick Spoentgen (Assistant Sauk County District Attorney), and representatives from the Baraboo Police Department, Hope House of South Central Wisconsin, and UW Colleges. Panel members will discuss sexual assault in our community, factors associated with its occurrence, community and individual responses to sexual assault, and prevention measures that communities can take to decrease its occurrence.

The NEA Big Read project is a project of University of Wisconsin Colleges and Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwa Community Colleges’ students, faculty, and staff to bring communities around the state together in a community read. The NEA Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest. Programming at the Baraboo Public Library is supported in part by a grant from the Sauk County UW-Extension, Arts & Culture Committee and the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts.
