In December, the book club for readers in their 20s and 30s will discuss The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie. In this highly acclaimed 1926 novel, Hercule Poirot has retired to a quiet English village near his friend, wealthy business man Roger Ackroyd. Ackroyd is grieving the recent death by apparent suicide of his fiance, who, it seems, was hiding the secret that she had murdered her late husband. It is soon revealed that blackmail is involved, and with Ackroyd's own mysterious death, a village full of suspects for Poirot to sort out.
This month's meeting will be held at the Baraboo Public Library.
