Tuesdays with Murder Book Group

Baraboo Public Library, 230 Fourth Avenue, Baraboo, WI

This book group is for anyone who enjoys reading mysteries. We generally choose an author or a theme, and everyone chooses a pertinent book to read and share with the group. Tuesdays with Murder meets at the library on the third Tuesday of each month. New members are welcome!

For May, the theme is Hollywood Mystery Writers of the 20s, 30s and 40s: American “hard-boiled” detective fiction in film noir classics. We will focus on:

  • Dashiell Hammett, creator of Sam Spade character in novels such as The Maltese Falcon, and the Nick and Nora characters in The Thin Man.
  • Raymond Chandler, creator of Philip Marlowe in novels such as The Big Sleep, and Farewell My Lovely
  • James M. Cain, author of The Postman Always Rings Twice, and Double Indemnity
